Formatting the Reference Page

The following pages will cover the different types of sources you will likely encounter, and how to cite them.  All of your sources will need to have citations on the Reference Page, except for personal communications.

The Reference Page must be set up in a specific way.  The entire page should be double-spaced, and in a 12-point Times New Roman or Calibri font. At the top of the page, you should type "References" in 12-point Times New Roman or Calibri font, double spaced. After you type that title in, press the enter key once, then begin with your first citation.

The citations on the page should be in alphabetical order by the authors' last names.  If one of your entries does not have an author, use the first word in the entry to alphabetize it.

All of your citations should have a hanging indent.  A "hanging indent" is where the first line of each citation is at the left margin, and every line following is indented.

Below is an example References Page that you can refer to.  If you have any questions, feel free to contact the library.
